Turn Back Time

Cuba is like turning back time. The old cars, the art, the music and the hospitality make it a beautiful place to spend time. I have visited Cuba a couple of times to help a local organization distribute water filters to neighborhoods that don’t have access to clean water. In 2019 a tornado ripped through Havana decimating a neighborhood. Martina was hiding in her broom closet clinging to her two young grandchildren. The second floor of her home was ripped off and taken in the storm. The neighborhood church has been helping to re-build this community and meet the needs of the people there. I had a chance to meet Martina and hear her story. She showed me her broom closet and what was left of her home. It was wonderful to see people coming together to help re-build her home and provide for some of her family’s essential needs. This help has made such a difference in Martina’s life and in the lives of the people in this community.
