About Me
I am a chaser of light, a lover of people, a seeker of whimsy.
I live in California where the light during the golden hour is dreamy, truly golden. I love living here, but I also love chasing the light out in the world. Recently, while in Italy, I noticed the light changing at the end of the day and I had to run to catch it before it was gone. With my camera in hand, I hurried up the hill onto the wall that encircles Lucca to marvel at the warmth and softness of the light. My husband caught up with me, and we ended up walking all the way around the city as the sun went down.
I also see the light that I chase inside the people that I meet. People are my favorite thing about our world. When I was four years old, my family moved to a new town. In need of friends, my Dad tells the story of how I saw a girl my age walking in front of our house and I rushed out the door to ask if she wanted to be my friend. I want to make friends everywhere I go. I want to connect with people and hear their stories.
Stories make up the moments of our lives. To me, it’s the little moments that matter the most; sitting shoulder to shoulder on the couch looking at pictures with my son who just graduated from college, driving along the coast with my daughter, listening to music and hanging our arms out of the car window, or playing a family hacky sack game after dinner.
I love all these different moments of life, but my favorite moments are filled with whimsy. Whimsy is a delightful surprise, it is joy that is out of the ordinary, it is play. As you explore the pages on this site, you will get a sense of whimsy and how it leaks into everything that I do.
I want to be a part of making the world a more playful place by bringing beauty and joy to our ordinary lives. I do this through creating meaningful experiences for people through visual art, storytelling and creative projects.
We are all on a journey through life. Together, we can inspire each other to create a little magic along the way.
“We are all traveling through time together, every day of our lives. All we can do is do our best to relish this remarkable ride.”
— Domhnall Gleeson in the movie “About Time”
