We told him we were cleaning the garage

The other day my husband noticed that our 22 year old son had written on the calendar “Zac’s 2nd Birthday.” We laughed at this and thought it was funny that our son, who’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day would randomly write this on our August calendar.  I said, “Why don’t we surprise him and celebrate his 2nd birthday?”  My daughter, who loves any event where she gets to hang streamers, was an immediate “yes” and so we started planning a party.  We bought him a small present, decorated the house and bought donuts for a morning celebration.  But the best part was buying pink t-shirts for the whole family and ironing on “Zac’s 2nd Birthdy” on the front (we thought the typo said it all). We had already set up a cover plan to clean the garage together, but instead we gave Zac his pink shirt and we all launched off to play a round of mini golf. Mini golf ended up being okay.  It was a hot day and crazy crowded for a Monday.  We had to wait in the hot sun for our turn to play, but the matching t-shirts and the randomness of the day made it all worth it and hilariously fun.  Is there anyone you know who needs a surprise second birthday?
